Description

At the marvellous Cortes II apartment you can enjoy a fantastic private balcony terrace equipped with stylish furniture. From both bedrooms, one with that great balcony, you'll have a fantastic view to the huge Tagus estuary and to a green garden.

The charming apartment is located in a quiet lane at the traditional old town quarter Santa Engracia. Santa Engracia is a still undiscovered cosy and very portuguese old town quarter in Lisbon. You have a lot of small townhouses with private gardens on the backyard. Due to its proximity to the Tagus estuary you can enjoy fantastic views at Santa Engracia quarter to the harbour area and of the huge estuary. We also live in Santa Engracia and have here our agency office.

We like this contemplative neighbourhood very much. You have a lot of tiny stores for all wishes. At our main street Rua Magalhaes you can order always fresh portuguese lunch and dinner at "Senhor Cardoso" for a favourable price. We can recommend you to visit also Museu da Agua at our quarter, the nice Water Museum with an old garden park. The famous baroque cathedral Santa Engracia is easily reachable on foot. At Rua Washington you have the bus stop and within 10 minutes walking distance you'll reach easily the metro and international train station Santa Apolonia.

This splendid apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, a comfortable living and dining-room, two stylish bathrooms, one with a big shower, the other with a bathtub, and a totally equipped kitchen. The highlight is the balcony terrace. On the back you have also a comfortable dinning area with wonderful views of old orange trees. The apartment is furnished with an antique painting and design classics from Mies van der Rohe. The 1920's building is constructed very solidly. So after a careful restauration you can enjoy a modern apartment with a lot of charme and original historic elements.

We can provide you with a garage space, 3 minutes on foot, for EUR 15 per day. The parking spaces in the district are chargeable.

Upon arrival you'll receive the apartment keys from Mrs. Daiana. Daiana awaits you at the apartment and shows you the apartment.

Non smoking apartment. Portuguese registration number: 55457/AL

Had a beautiful stay in Lisboa, the apartment was well appointed and in a fantastic location, central for everything. Communication from the very first contact was excellent, we were met at the apartment by Diana, who showed us around explained stuff about the locale offered advise on transport. All in all a great experience, Lisboa is a wonderful city and the apartment is in a great location to take best advantage.

Lovely apartment − excellent location, very comfortable. Hosts were very accommodating − we all arrived late evening but was no problem, and we all left at different times. The street the apartment is on is calm with friendly neighbours. The area offers local shops, a bakery, grocery and tiny restaurants. All in all, a great experience − highly recommended.

This place is fantastic. José, an architect, renovated it himself and keeps it impeccably well furnished, decorated and cleaned. Beatriz gave us many ideas of what to do in the area, including the Lisbon−Holiday−Apartments guidebook (of which she gave us a spoken overview on arrival) and provided dinner and brunch recommendations. She's generous and really cares that you see the city. The apartment is located a short walk from one of the city's main transit stations in a pretty historic neighborhood away from the bulk of the tourists downtown, and it served us very well as a base to explore the area and see some authentic pieces of Lisbon. (Public transit is pretty good too; the 735 bus stops really near the front door). It all conspires to give this listing an extraordinary value. Without a doubt, I have never gotten more for less money in all my holiday rental stays than for this one. Thanks to Witold and Daiana for all of their help.

Hello there! We had a wonderful one week stay in this apartment in Lisbon in September 2020. The apartment is beautiful, very clean, spacious and very practical. We found everything we could have needed and had lots of space for our own personal items. So thank you for being so thoughtful and putting yourself in the shoes of a tenant and visitor. We were greeted by Beatrix at the apartment, she welcomed us in, making sure COVID rules were being followed by all of us, showed us the apartment and explained everything. She was very friendly and helpful and also available when we hat problems with the internet. Everything was taken care of and solved quickly and easily. On thing: If you have difficulty walking, you must know that the apartment is in the second floor and there is no elevator. If you have a problem carrying heavy luggage up two flights of stairs this could be a problem. We felt very much at home in the apartment. It's for instance great to be able to choose from 3 different places to sit down and eat, depending on the time of day. And the balcony ist just fantastic to wind down after a long day of walking around Lisbon. We sat there every evening with a cool drink, looking out over the beautiful Tejo, enjoying the sunset. In walking distance of the apartment are several little shops with fruit and veg, bread, croissants, cookies and tarts and basic groceries. The bus stop in Washington Street is also not far away and you can either go down to the Metro Station or carry on all the way to Cais Sodré by bus. The bus is especially convenient on the way back because of the steep hill! We found a restaurant called Tasca a minute away from the apartment on Washington Street. We visited it several times. The owner cooks everything by himself and serves the most delicious Portuguese dishes he put his own personal twist on. He explains and offers you the dishes to choose from at the table. If you go there choose several small dishes that you share and make sure you have enough time because waiting is part of the deal. But it sure is worth it! We would go there again anytime! Lisbon is beautiful, we really, really enjoyed it. We were out and about by foot, by bus, tram, metro, train and ferry and explored so many things. Incredible. It pays off to buy a day card for 6,90 Euros for all the public transport. We used it all the time. And if we bought it at the Metro Station Apolonia at 10 o'clock in the morning, we were still able to use it for the bus the next morning to take us down to the station where we would buy the next one. If possible, read a book on Lisbon and make a list of things you definitely would like to see before you come. Otherwise you get completely lost and soaked up by the sheer unbelievable amount of sights. There are a lot of information leaflets and maps in the apartment if you don't have any. We loved the Tram 28 and 12, walking through the tiny lanes in Mouraria, the cemetery in Prazeres that has incredible views at the back, the Basilica da Estrela (go all the way up to the terrace!), the LX factory and the many, many miradouros all over. We had a great time and can only encourage other visitors to come to this apartment and this fantastic city. Thank you and stay safe and healthy!

We were only able to stay four nights in Lisbon, but our stay was very comfortable, pleasant and relaxing. Daiana gave us an excellent orientation to Lisboa with his beautifully organized and detailed informations. She also answered our questions about finding tiles and ceramic items. One of the shops we loved is "Artesanato de Portugal" in Rua Augusto Rosa. The bakery Saga at Graca was wonderful, everything was delicious. We ate so very well in Lisboa, the hills provided outstanding exercise, the people are friendly and helpful, especially if you dont speak portuguese. Obrigado,

The apartment was very comfortable and well furnished and we very much enjoyed our stay. Mrs Daiana was welcoming and helpful, and the arrangements to meet at the apartment went smoothly. The local area has many small shops selling basic groceries and a bakery, also a few cafes. There is a bus stop very close with a bus around every 10 to 15 min, and a tube station around 15 min walk. The local area in Lisbon has a lot of hills, so you need to be fit! If you are in Lisbon for several days, as well as seeing the city, we would also recommend visiting Sintra and Cascais, both around 40 mins train journey. The public transport in Lisbon is good and also inexpensive. You can get a ticket from any tube or rail station for either all day any journey for Euro 6, or can put money onto a pass which you can use during your stay (similar to London oyster card, but much cheaper!). We would love to come back to Lisbon sometime, and would definitely recommend this apartment.

Great place in great city. Large and very well equipped apartment. We arrived at 1.00 in the night, and drinking water and some food to start the morning after was provided − so great service. And of course the great balcony with a view of the water.
