The streets around the charming Praca das Flores square have become one of the most popular areas in Lisbon in the past years. The elegant Paz apartment is located in the heart of this beautiful neighbourhood.
A lot of young life, innovation and new design has come to the charming old buildings in the quarter. Enjoy the fresh breeze the nice little shops, comfortable cafés and excellent restaurants have brought to the tiny old lanes and the beautiful verdant squares. The famous E28 tram does not care much – it has been crossing the neighbhourhood for almost one century now. In a few minutes, it brings you to Largo do Chiado square, the central square of the Bairro Alto/Chiado quarter, or further to the picturesque Alfama quarter. For daytrips to the beach, just take the train at Santos station, only five walking minutes from the apartment.
However, the best is to explore Lisbon on foot from the apartment. Due to its perfectly central location in the quiet part of famous Bairro Alto, you will reach many famous sights easily by walking, for example the famous Estrela Basilica and the wonderful garden park Jardim da Estrela, the National Museum of Ancient Art or the Elevador da Bica funicular. Just around the corner there is the Parliament building and the great, but less known baroque church Igreja de Nossa Senhora das Mercês.
The fantastic Paz apartment itself fits perfectly into the neighbourhood where tradition and innovation merge – the house it is located in was built before the big earthquake in 1755, the renovated apartment itself is modern and bright. The living and dining room and the completely equipped kitchen form a beautiful and elegant open space area. Two French balconies lead the view to the life on the streets. The modern bathroom is equipped with a spacious shower. As a special extra, you enjoy a walk-in wardrobe directly linked to the comfortable bedroom.
In the neighbourhood you can find many charming cafés and small restaurants worth being discovered. For dinner we recommend you to take a ten minutes walk to Mercado da Ribeira. One of its old market halls now hosts Lisbon's famous Time Out Market where you can enjoy street food prepared by Portuguese star cooks for affordable prices in an international atmosphere. Afterwards, you can have a drink in one of the many bars around the market hall or listen to fado in the Eastern part of Bairro Alto up the hill.
Upon arrival you'll receive the apartment keys from Joao. Your contact person Joao meets you at the apartment and show you the apartment.
